We often go through life trying to figure out a way to get more money, or a new job, or a new relationship.
The problem is actually that, because we’re so focused on the goal we ignore the simplest things that could help us achieve all of those goals.
Investing in ourselves.
1. Take Care of Your Health

Your health is the most important thing you’ve got, because without it nothing is possible.
You need to make sure that you have the body you want, or are at least comfortable with it, because it shows. Your attitude, demeanor, and overall approach to life will vary greatly based on if you’re in shape or not.
2. Invest in Courses

Courses are a simple way to increase your knowledge on any given subject.
Wether in biochemistry or copy writing, you want to be continuously improving your self knowledge and carrying yourself as someone who knows something.
You can find some free courses to start with at https://www.coursera.org
3. Become Literate

Literacy is a small skill that can easily be the factor that dictates how far you’ll go in life.
Nearly every interaction in the workplace involves some form of communication and if you cannot properly argue for yourself, you’ll never be able to justify why you should get that promotion you want so badly.
This goes along with the fact that pretty much every alternative form of monetary gain(making money) involves literacy.
From making a script for a YouTube video, to copywriting or writing a blog and creating concepts or ideas, none of it can be accomplished without literacy.
4. Read and Write Daily

Even if it’s just for ten minutes each, you need to read and write daily.
This one simple act can increase mental acuity and memorization, as well as boost creativity, overall mood and performance.
It’ll also allow for you to plan your day or record any ideas you come up with.
5. Practice an Art or Craft

Wether it’s drawing, playing a musical instrument, or crafting stories. You need to practice a creative endeavor.
This will improve your overall confidence in your own creativity, while also showing you where you lean artistically, what your preferences are, as well as helping you find your own individuality.
6. Pick up Chess or Sudoku

Start playing either chess or sudoku. These are both games that are known to boost I.Q.
They are also games that fundamentally represent life, by helping you to practice finding the best possible move in a constricted set of rules.
7. Remember It’s Never Too Late
No matter how old you are, it is never too late to invest in yourself, pick up a craft, or learn an academic discipline.
You are the only determining factor on how limited you can be.
